is our birthing technology out of hand?

for many a mother who chooses to give birth in a hospital, she will become intimate with a number of technological inventions. . .interventions.  i recently stumbled upon this link.   note: the tone of the author is not pro labor pro. . .and i have to admit, neither am i.

i agree with her. . .mothers in hospitals today face a multitude of interventions.  and honestly, interventions do not make birth safer, friendlier or faster.  if you read my previous post with a video excerpt from the delightful ina may, you will note her intention, no technology can speed up a sphincter.

at the end of the day, we are humans, we are mammals.  we are not machines.  we must relearn to birth with that primitive wisdom that the creative force gifted us.
